It's all about me

Hiya my friends,I'm Nige and I broke my neck,leaving me paralysed from the shoulders down,i'm C6 tetraplegic,for those who are medically minded,my arms work but not all the muscles in them,i've no finger movement at all,i pick things up by using my wrist,that's a very brief descripton of me,oh,i had a car accident,one of my tyres had a blow out.i was working in bedford at the time,my job was an industrial radiographer,x-raying welds.working for a dutch company.i remember waking up in stoke manderville hospital,i knew what had happened,the pain in my legs was unbearable even though i couldn't feel them,i knew i'd never walk again,i was destroyed inside,when my dad walked in and saw me,i saw him age in front of me,now that really hurt,1 person,me,was changing the lives of others and i couldn't/can't cope with that,i wanted to go see the big man in the sky,as i was in stoke manderville which was about 3hrs drive to visit me,i went through the darkest of dark days on my own,i've no idea how i did it,i'll come back to this,i managed to get transfered to the MIDlands centre of spinal injuries in oswestry,shropshire,closer to home,when i got there it was a shock to see the ward as it was an old victorian ward,beds all in a long line,even a matron,my head was scrambled but all the staff were brilliant,now was the time to start rehabilitation,now that was a bizarre story,i will add bits when they pop into my head but whjat i'm going through now is the hardest thing i've ever done,i will add humour and quips to my second life as being a paralysed man in a wheelchair ..peace and love to you all my friends,Nige x
